Sound Transit announced that the Link 2 Line can begin operating passenger service between South Bellevue and Redmond Technology stations in Spring 2024. The Sound Transit Board approved opening the eight-station segment for service prior to completion of the full East Link Extension. This is all just the beginning of a long stretch of opening celebrations on the horizon, including 2 Line service to Downtown Redmond and across Lake Washington in 2025. The connection to Seattle (and Downtown Redmond) is also coming soon!

Due to the Bellevue Transit Center Raised Intersection Project at downtown Bellevue intersections adjacent to the Bellevue Transit Center, the transit center is experiencing three weekday/weekend or weekend-only closures in August and September. The first two closures are completed. The third transit center closure will be Sept. 8-11. During the closures, temporary bus stops will be set up on 106th Avenue NE and NE 6th Street. The construction project builds raised intersections on 108th and 110th Avenues NE, at NE 6th Street, in downtown Bellevue. It aims to improve safety and accessibility to the transit center for both pedestrians and buses. The raised intersections will provide a seamless street crossing for people walking and rolling between the future East Link light rail station and the Bellevue Transit Center. For project information, visit the City of Bellevue website. |
