2012 Commute Trip Reduction B&O Tax Credit Application Due January 31
|
If you provide a transportation benefit to your employees, be sure to share this information with the person that pays your company's taxes.
Employers who provide commute benefits to their employees are eligible for a credit against their Washington State business and occupation (B&O) or public utility tax liability. Some qualifying examples include incentives for public transportation (bus, train, light rail, walk-on ferry), vanpooling, carpooling, walking, and car sharing. This credit is equal to 50% of benefit cost up to $60 per employee per year, with a limit of $200,000 of credit per employer, per fiscal year.
The application must be received by the Department of Revenue (DOR) no later than January 31, 2013 for benefits paid to employees in 2012. The form is available online at http://dor.wa.gov/Docs/forms/Misc/ComTrRedCredApp.pdf

Community Transit Fare Change
Community Transit will implement a fare change on February 1, 2013.
The new Community Transit fare structure is listed in the table below:

Everett Transit has implemented a fare change on January 1, 2013.

If you are adding value to an ORCA card for use on Everett Transit services you will need to add the correct monthly pass or enough E-purse to cover the new fare. The $9 monthly pass for senior or disabled customers is valid only on Everett Transit buses and is not valid on other bus, train or ferry services.
Beginning February 1, Everett Transit Commuter Route 70 Mukilteo-Boeing fares will increase; Adults to $2, Youth to $1.50 and Senior/Disabled to $1.
