| SR 520 Toll Rates to Increase Today
As a reminder from WSDOT, toll rates on the SR 520 bridge will increase an average of 2.5 percent starting July 1. The new peak Good To Go! rates will be $3.70, and the peak Pay By Mail rates will be $5.25. Wondering why toll rates continue to increase? WSDOT created a myth-busting blog post that answers some of the most frequent questions about the need for toll increases.
Tolling on the SR 520 floating bridge will provide more than $1 billion in funding for a new, safer bridge. This year’s increase is the second of four annual, 2.5 percent rate increases planned through 2015. |

520 Closure: July 12-15

Crews will close SR 520 in both directions on Friday, July 12 at 11:00 p.m. and reopen Monday, July 15 at 5:00 a.m. SR-520 floating bridge and ramps will be closed between Montlake Boulevard in Seattle and I-405.

| Stay cool this summer with a Vanpool!
Did you know Washington is home to the nation's largest and oldest vanpooling system? Washington commuters took nearly 8.9 million trips by vanpool in 2010. Vanpooling reduced single-occupant vehicle miles traveled by an estimated 145 million and saved vanpoolers more than $26 million in gasoline. Of course you want to be a part of that!
Here are just some of the benefits of vanpooling: low monthly fare, comfortable ride with 8 to 15 people, more personal or work time, preferential parking and ability to bike along with vanpooling, and the possible of subsidy with tax benefits. To learn more about vanpools or other ways to improve your commute, visit our vanpool page.
